Benefitting from a lush green vegetation and a mild tropical climate, Mauritius tops the list of preferred destinations for golfers around the world . This is the result from the latest international tourism fair ITB which was held from 5 to 9 March in Berlin.
Mauritius currently has eight 18-hole golf courses, where golfers from all over the world have the pleasure to "pitch and putt " on the most demanding courses, not to forget the excellent greens that can hold up to the expectations of any golfer in the world.
The proof is in the over 45,000 golfers , 80% thereof Europeans, who land every year in Mauritius, a country which traditionally does not position itself as a golfing destination, but the sport has now become a tourist attraction on the island.
Golfers can thus benefit from some additional privileges : for example, the national airline, Air Mauritius, provides free transport of golf equipment.
