Location :
At 10 minutes from the most beautiful beaches of the island, at the heart of the nature reserves of the "Black River Gorges" , Chamarel is a dream come true for the development of this luxurious "eco-lodge" ...
In the south west of the island, at 400m in altitude, Chamarel is surrounded by the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site.
In this region, the World Wild Life Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot.
Lakaz is situated 55 mn from the airport, 1h from the capital Port-Louis, 10 to 15 min from the most beautiful beaches on the island like the Morne and Baie du Cap, 10 to 15 min from the small coastal villages of Black River and La Gaulette where you will find supermarkets and shopping centers. Surrounded by the mountains of Chamarel, the property is easily accessible.
Accommodation :
Lakaz Chamarel is a small ‘boutique hotel’, managed like a Guesthouse, charming and refined. Located in full nature and nested in a small valley in the heart of a splendid tropical garden of twelve hectares, where olive wood and other endemic essences as well as tree ferns, flamboyant trees and other tropical species flourish (a real treat to discover!).
From the entrance to the domain you will be overwhelmed by the natural beauty of this tropical garden and charmed by the architecture, which blends in in perfect harmony with the nearly undisturbed nature. The 7 rooms and 13 suites all have private plunge pools and have been decorated with character and style, representing the diversity of different cultures on the Island. Each room declines its ethnic influence in its furniture and its decoration: China, Africa, India, or simply tropical . The terraces open on the infinite one; the bathrooms to open sky make it possible to benefit from the spectacle of surrounding nature.

Lakaz Chamarel includes a main building with a living room, a TV room, a dining room, a veranda, an open bar and a kitchen. Two swimming pools, two wooden thatch roof kiosks with a second bar and a dining room, a sauna and a ‘Cabane’ for massages as well as a room for silence and meditation.
Lakaz Chamarel offers you 20 rooms and suites: 3 Kaz standard, 4 Kaz superior, 8 Garden Pool Suites of approximately 95 sqm with their private pool, 5 Sea View pool suites of approximately 115 sqmwith their private Pool.

Breakfast and dinner are included in the rates, and for lunch we have a choice ‘à la Carte’.
The breakfast (Full Breakfast) is served between 7.45 am and 10.30 am ( or at your wake-up time): Coffee, espresso, tea, chocolate, fresh fruit juice, homemade bread, homemade jam, butter, cheese, cereals, fruits and eggs from the farm of the people from the village of Chamarel.
Dinner is served as from 19h30 with a choice: ‘Amuse-bouche’, starters, main courses, deserts.
For lunch, you have a choice ‘à la Carte’ with different Salads, a Mauritian menu, fresh pasta etc…or Lakaz can prepare, as well, your lunch on request.
You will find several local restaurants (“table d’hôte”) in the village of Chamarel, 10 min walking distance open only for lunch.
Room service as from 7.30 am to 9.30 pm , tray charge of 150 Rs/pers for breakfast and dinner (excluded for ‘à la carte order’)
Lakaz Formula: 32 €/pers/night and Lakaz formula for Children at 22 €/child , including : drinks and beers (alcoholic’s drinks excluded), tea, coffee, espresso, snacks, bread, fruits, cakes etc… (self-service). Also included : Laundry, Sauna, Bicycles, 1 massage during the stay, 2 massages as from 5 nights stay, 3 massages as from 8 nights stay... (booking in advance required).

A lounge provided with a chimney, an Ipod music system, a TV room with a television set with numerical bouquet, books and games at the disposal of the guests.
Early check-in and late check-out policy:
The policy for the Early Check in & Late Check Out is at full payment of the room. For a minimum stay of 7 nights, the cost will be at 50%.
A shower is available for of the guests with a late departure, and if the room is available, we can accommodate guests until their check out without any supplement.
