Before coming to the Indian Ocean, they ran the "Ferme des Sources" in Belgium. They very quickly introduced their personal style to the establishment, where service, hospitality and personal attention are a priority.

Since 2009, and still in the same intimate style made of charm and refinement unique to this hotel, the 20° SUD offers new areas to their guests : a bar, a lounge and an additional swimming pool, a billard room, 5 new rooms , 4 thereof suites of more than 80 sqm, the "Austral Suites", which without a doubt represent the best that Mauritius can offer in this category
All the furniture and furnishings have been purchased from the Belgian interior decorator Flamant Home Interiors, Plasma screen TVs, free WiFI internet access, Nespresso coffee machines, white lacquered flooring, Venetian blinds, exclusive interior decoration - you will find the standards of the 20° SUD only in the most upmarket establishments, which explains the hotels' success since the re-opening in 2005. The beautiful rooms are all sea-facing and literally only a few steps away from the beach, which gives you the impression of floating on the sea.
A magnificent view of the bay of Grand Bay, the yacht club, the most prestigious hotels of the island and the neighbouring islands, beautiful terraces overlooking the sea, equipped with private swimming pools for some or jacuzzis for others ... all this justifies the uniqueness of this hotel : the 20° SUD, a different kind of hotel!
The hotel has 34 sea view rooms, all located on a coconut grove bordering the sea :4 Austral Suites, 2 Suites, 9 Beachfront Rooms, 19 Charm Rooms.
Not two rooms are alike.
All the rooms offer a bathroom with a stand-alone bath tub shower and separate toilet, hair dryer, telephone, air conditioning, TV with LCD flat screen, 17 international TV channels, DVD player, WiFI/ADSL internet access (included), minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, terrace or balcony, Nespresso machine in the beachfront rooms, the suites and the Austral Suites.
The suites and the "Austral Suites" are more spacious, located right on the beach and offer a lounge area as well as an exterior plunge pool.
NB.: Two of the "Austral Suites" dispose of a little swimming pool with sea view.
Rooms with connecting doors: 2 in the "charm" category. These rooms can be rented as separate units on request.
2 rooms in the "charm" category, one "beachfront" room and 1 "suite" offer the possibility to add an additional bed to accommodate a child or an adult.
Children under the age of 12 are not allowed at the hotel.
The hotel disposes of 1 restaurant and 2 bars.
An English and continental breakfast is served at any time of the day (at the Grand Buffet from 7h30 to 10h30, after that individual breakfast platter).
"A la Carte" lunch and dinner menu.
The talented Mauritian head chef, Mano Grosset, is in charge of all the purchases and will ensure to offer you a variety of dishes based on the freshest produce available.
High tea is served from 16h00 to 17h00 with a variety of Mauritian teas and a pastry of the day.
The pool side bar offers you fresh fruit juices, cocktails, a variety of flavoured rums as well as excellent French and South African wines.
In the evenings, the dress code for the bar and the restaurant requires longs for gentlemen. Swim wear, bathing costumes and sandals are not allowed.
Musical entertainment (soft music) is offered in the evenings.
The Spa is dedicated to well-being and beauty, and is composed of four massage rooms, a steam room and a hot tub.
A wide range of massages and beauty treatments are offered, using "Comfort Zone" products, and other treatments such as manicures, pedicures, waxing and teeth whitening are available.
NB.: A beautiful traditional wooden pirogue will take you to the centre of Grand Baie, the Sunset Boulevard with its' shops, bars and restaurants, only a 5 minute boat drive away, free of charge. The boat is commuting at the following times : 9h30, 11h30, 14h30 and 16h30.

20° SUD is an excellent starting point to discover the island of Mauritius.
The Botanical Garden of Pamplemousse and the Sugar Museum are only a 15 minute car drive away, the immense beach of Mont Choisi 5 minutes, Port Louis 30 minutes. The hotel offers to organize a variety of boat trips and excursions by van (16 people max).
The hotel also disposes of a private area on the Ile Plate - a small part of paradise, with a little restaurant, ideal for a lobster barbecue in the sun!
